Created in 1991 with and for the RAID, an elite unit of the French police, the PGM Ultima Ratio is a high-precision rifle designed for shooting at ranges of up to 1,100 yards (1,000 meters).

This legendary rifle is now used by numerous elite units around the world and is also highly appreciated by the most demanding sport shooters.

In 2022, PGM Précision introduced the second-generation Ultima Ratio, the result of more than 30 years of development and improvements based on user feedback.

Initially designed with a chassis allowing the bipod to be mounted at two positions (in front of the magazine and at the end of the handguard), the second-generation PGM Ultima Ratio has been available since 2025 with a chassis featuring an integrated Arca-Swiss rail, offering greater ergonomics and versatility.

With its 30-second barrel interchangeability system, the Ultima Ratio offers the possibility of easily changing barrel type or caliber.

PGM Précision offers 4 barrel profiles for this rifle:

Intervention: cooled
Commando: fluted, lightweight
Subsonic: integral suppressor
Custom: heavy, dedicated to sport shooting

The first version of the second-generation PGM Ultima Ratio was designed with a chassis allowing the bipod to be mounted at two positions (in front of the magazine and at the end of the handguard).

In January 2025, PGM Précision unveiled a new version of the PGM Ultima Ratio featuring a new chassis with an integrated Arca-Swiss standard rail, which allows the bipod to be mounted along the entire length of the handguard and the rifle to be mounted on a shooting tripod.

PGM Précision offers a chassis conversion for second-generation PGM Ultima Ratio that do not have the new Arca-Swiss chassis, in order to improve ergonomics and versatility.
